TRAVEL DIARY: MOLOKINI

Nikko and I aren't exactly the best at taking it easy when we travel. While we obviously love some downtime, we tend to be on the more active side, packing one adventure in after the next.

One of my absolute favorite things to do when we are in Maui is to go snorkeling. I have an obsession with turtles (there's a long story behind that, having to do with my grandparents), and I absolutely love being on the boat. Plus, getting in the ocean past the waves is a totally different experience.

We try to take the Pacific Whale Foundation eco tours whenever possible, because not only is the Pacific Whale Foundation a non profit, ethical foundation on a serious mission to protect ocean life, but their non-invasive tours are honestly the best ones out there. This time, Nikko, his brother and I went to both Turtle Arches and Molokini. We saw more turtles than ever - about 6 or 7 total - and more fish than we could count, including my favorite, the humuhumunukunukuapua'a.

If you find yourself in Maui, I highly recommend checking out their tours. My favorites are definitely Turtle Arches and Molokini, but I also love the (The Ocean Spirit is my personal favorite). You can go with a bunch of people, or you can do a private charter, which is nothing short of amazing. But honestly, any of the Pacific Whale Foundation tours are pretty incredible!

xx,

Tienlyn
