SPUTNIK CHANDELIERS: DESIGN OBSESSION

There's nothing like buying a new house to put yourself into a furniture shopping frenzy - which is what I've been in for about the past year, with no signs of it slowing down. Luckily, there's a LOT to decorate.

I've been aware of Sputnik Chandeliers for awhile, but now that I've finally got a serious, formal dining room, I figured it was time to pick one up for myself. Of course, this lead to a lot of Pinteresting, which led to this collection of inspo. I love how a Sputnik chandelier can go with so many different styles - from over-the-top glamour, to minimalist, and even farmhouse chic. They're both masculine and feminine at the same time, and can completely transform a room.

A little backstory on Sputnik lights - they have mid-century modern roots, but were mostly a result of the 'Atomic Age' of design, ranging from 1940 - 1960, with an emphasis on atomic-inspired design. So there's a little spaceship element to this design as well - something that, to me, fits perfectly in a geodesic dome home, invented by the man who coined the term 'Spaceship Earth.'

Scroll down to see some of the ones I'm currently considering.

Can't wait to add one to our dining room!

xx,

Tienlyn
