Exploring Carmel in Lulus.com

This past weekend, we took a little day trip a few hours south to Carmel to show my husband's brother a little more of the California coast. I was born and raised in California and I absolutely love living here. But there's something about showing someone around who is from out of town  that just brings it home again how incredibly lucky I am to live in such a beautiful place.

It was a day trip, so we only had time for light meandering, lunch (at a delicious mediterranean restaurant that erupted into song and dance mid meal), and a trip along the 17 mile drive. We weren't in Carmel for long, but I have quickly remembered why I love Carmel so much, and Nikko and I are really looking forward to heading back soon for a more in-depth visit.

I kept my day trip outfit simple with three uniform essentials from Lulu*s.  My wardrobe is constantly evolving, but a few things I constantly reach for are leather pants, black ankle boots, and simple, pastel pieces (my favorite way to do color). All of these pieces are super easy to work back into the rest of my wardrobe, but they all have something a little special to them. From the perfectly cut high waist of my Blank NYC faux leather skinnies (Blank NYC does awesome faux leather, btw, I'm never disappointed), to the raw edge hem of this RVCA sweatshirt, to the fringe accents on these Seychelles booties, keeping things simple yet thoughtful always makes me feel effortless and on point.

If you had a uniform, what items would it consist of? (And if you've been to Carmel, what was your favorite thing? I can't wait to go back!)

Tienlyn
