Finding Our Place In The World

It takes time to figure out who we are and what we most want in this life. For some us, it takes even longer. But the beauty of that is that if gives us the chance to try many different things. Finding our place in the world can also be a tough ask. But the search is often what makes things interesting. It’s healthy to ask ourselves a few questions to help us potentially move forward with care and intention.

What Are We Happy To Do?

To some, this question seems silly. After all, many people work jobs they aren’t that passionate about. And that’s totally okay, and quite normal. But it can help to make sure the overall direction of our career is on a path we don’t mind partaking in, perhaps leading to a position we’d like in the future. When we have an interest in the work, we’re more likely to feel invested and capable within it.

Who Are We Going With?

Life is not just made of what we do, but who we do it with. Outside of our family, we get to pretty much choose with whom we try to forge bonds. The secret here is that partaking in tasks we enjoy will often lead us to people who feel the same way, no matter if that’s heading to a yoga club, joining a choir, or even heading to a niche online community discussing arts and crafts that no one else takes part in.

What Goals Do We Have?

Goals can provide us with a format for life, a target to reach, and a schedule to keep. When we think of ‘finding our place in the world,’ we often do so as a consequence of setting goals and pursuing them. This provides the framework for everything else, from the kind of job we take, the activities we get up to in our free time, and the people we surround ourselves with. Genuinely asking ourselves this question and updating it each year can keep things feeling fresh and never stale, and will also permit us to get out fo our comfort zones.

From starting a cooking blog to investing in senior care franchising, the options are limitless if we make sure the value we’re placing on them is our own.
