Aside from learning how to put on pants (I have a strong memory of my parents applauding as my toddler self pulled on the second leg of my stretchy corduroys for the first time ever), one of the biggest lessons I have ever learned about getting dressed is that you don't have to wear a skin tight dress, or even one that shows a ton of skin, to feel totally sexy.
What it really comes down to is wearing something with a hint of sensuality. Something that feels good against your skin, moves with the breeze, and allows you to feel completely free and confident. For me, that means dresses with fabric that skims over me in a way that both shows my shape but still allows for total freedom of motion.
To re-appropriate and paraphrase Sophia Loren (whose autobiography I just finished and is incredible, btw):
"At the end of the day, real success is often hidden in the secret of simplicity."
And if that's what might arguably be one of the iconic women of all time says, I'm totally on board.
