We shot this a few days before we left Toronto, at a rare, slightly less frenetic moment. I've gotten really into wearing tailored, structured pieces with things that are borderline underwear, a la this nude mesh tank I snagged from Theory years ago. And not the typical lacy or corseted underwear as outerwear trend, but more the not-so-sexy shape wear pieces you aren't really ever supposed to see. And even though I literally just called them not-so-sexy, I still somehow find theses pieces super sexy. There's something even more intimate about the fact that really, no one is supposed to see these pieces except yourself. It's not for anyone else - as illustrated by the stark, minimalist design, the functional tone, and the soft stretch that's designed for feel and not for looks. There's a boldness that's added to any look when you dare to wear something so unapologetically function-focused that I simply love. It's like a middle finger to the rules of dressing, and a pat on the back for yourself. Which just so happens to be the attitude I've started to adopt in well, kind of everything. Nude mesh shirts included...
