Bored of Your Home? Here Are 5 Ways to Change That.

Feeling bored with your home lately? You’re not the only one. A lot of people find themselves in this situation, especially when they've been living in the same place for a long time - add in the pandemic, and we’re all a little over the walls that got us through the last few years. Luckily, there are ways to change that. Here are our top 5

1) Get rid of clutter:

One of the quickest ways to make a home feel worse is to let the clutter build up - and it’s really easy to do it, too, especially without a designated space for your items. If you're starting to feel like your home is cluttered, take some time to go through everything and get rid of things that you don't need. Even if you don’t thoroughly run through every corner of your space, with just a little bit of time decluttering a day (even 30 minutes), you'll be surprised at how much better the space will look and feel once further decluttered.

2) Change up the furniture:

Another way to change the feel of a home is to rearrange or replace some of the furniture. If you're bored with the way things are currently arranged, try moving things around to create a new layout. You can also swap out some pieces for different ones that you might have in a different room, or in storage. Again, just changing a few small things can make a big difference in how the home looks and feels. And you can always change it up again!

Looking for a more drastic change? You could even consider selling or donating some of the old furniture and replacing it with new items. This is a great way to freshen up your space without spending too much money.

3) Make the backyard more inviting:

If your backyard is currently just a grassy area with maybe some plants, try adding some furniture or decorations to make it more inviting. A few lawn chairs or a small table can go a long way in making a backyard feel like an extension of the home. You can also add some potted plants or flowers to brighten things up.

If you have the space and the budget, you could even consider building. For smaller budgets, a pergola is a lovely addition - or a cowboy bathtub. If you’re in a warmer climate where summer is longer than a few months, adding a pool may very well be worth it (and can improve home value significantly). A pool has the potential to completely change the feel of a backyard and make it into a true oasis. Copper Leaf Pools can help you design and build the pool of your dreams.

4) Paint the walls:

One of the quickest and easiest ways to change the look of a home is to paint the walls. If bored with the current color scheme, try something new. You could go for a completely different color or just paint one accent wall. This is a relatively inexpensive way to make a big impact in your home. If painting sounds like too much work, consider hanging some new artwork or photographs on your walls. Or even removable wallpaper. This can brighten up any room and add some personality to any space.

5) Get new window treatments:

Another way to change the look of your home is to get new window treatments. If you currently have blinds or curtains that you're not happy with, try replacing them with something new. While you could probably spend a small budget on window treatments, they can also be relatively affordable. There are so many options available, and ways to decorate. This is also a great way to add some color or pattern to a space without making any permanent changes.

These are just a few ideas for ways that you can make your home more interesting and exciting. You might be surprised at how much difference they can make.
