When I saw this dress for the first time, I didn't have a special occasion to attend, or any future 'dress up' plans in my future. But that has never stopped me from buying a dressier piece before, and the reasons why boil down to two simple reasons:

1) How often do you find yourself scrambling to find that perfect dress for a special occasion only to discover that not only do you have nothing to wear, but the shops that you regularly drool over are suddenly seemingly barren with 'perfect' pieces? Why not be prepared ahead of time?

2) So you don't have an occasion at the moment. But what better excuse than a new dress is there to create one? This is how some of my most memorable nights begin. Inventing a reason to wear something I'm excited to put on - or intentionally overdressing for the day or night ahead. Because no matter how banal, the right dress can make anything you're doing suddenly fabulous.

Hence, this perfection of a dress, for no reason at all, besides the fact that I simply love it.
