A few days ago, we got our tree, by way of a new tradition. For the last few years, we've gone to the Whole Foods parking lot and randomly selected a tree that's still tied up. The point is not to see what it actually looks like until it's already home and all set up. (My family can spend hours in an Xmas Tree lot, arguing over the perfect tree, so this way, we all just go with the flow.) Any imperfections just add to the charm, and sometimes, like this year, we end up with the most beautiful tree we've ever had.
It's kind of like every new year. You embrace it head on, not knowing how it will turn out, but no matter what it ends up looking like, you celebrate it, and you work to make it beautiful. That's what 2015 was like for me - I had some highs and lows. We opened up a new chapter in our lives with our purchase of Cactus Mountain, I solidified a few very special friendships and hit a few career milestones, but I also lost a few loves ones and didn't quite hit every single goal I had set out (granted I always set goals a little too high on purpose, so whatever). But despite its imperfections, it was a really special year. And I'm planning on making every last minute of it just as special.
Oh and speaking of enjoying every last minute of Dec., I've got another very cool GIVEAWAY to share with you! Read on after the jump to enter!
