While the rest of the country embraces all things fall, I'm happily sitting back for a little while longer, holding on to all things summer. After all, rearranging the seasons is what the desert does best. Our winter is closer to a very crisp fall, so it's not like the turtlenecks and winter coats don't come out to play - but in the meantime, I'm leaning into resort-wear - something I never used to look forward to. But the older I get, the less seriously I take fashion - and the more playful I get with it. This lends itself beautifully to resort-wear - from unexpected pops of color to pretty, lightweight textures and more sculptural aspects, it turns out resort-wear can really be anything you want it to be. I'm still looking for ways to add back in my city edge that comes from years of gravitating towards ripped jeans, leather, and menswear. But I've found that the best way to learn new things about yourself is to try new things. And dressing for the desert has definitely expanded my repertoire.
Are you wrapped up in Fall fashion yet? Or are you already planning a warm weather getaway?
