BEAUTY BRAND DISCOVERY: VINE VERA

Last week, I had the opportunity to try out a new skincare brand, Vine Vera. One of the things that really attracted me to this brand was its use of Resveratrol, a compound that has incredible antioxident properties associated with anti aging, among other benefits. If Resveratrol sounds familiar to you, it might be because this is the compound that puts red wine on the 'healthy' list.

And while I definitely know about foods and vitamins that contain Resveratrol, I've never actually tried them in skincare. And since Resveratrol can help stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, (and Vine Vera uses Resveratrol in every product), I was totally intrigued.

After looking through their products, I also came across their Vitamin C collection, which I just had to try. While there are a lot of things that are truly groundbreaking in the beauty industry, vitamin C is a personal favorite ingredient of mine, as I've noticed some serious brightening and evening of skin tone thanks to vitamin C infused products. Here are the three from the Vine Vera Vitamin C collection that I tried and loved:

Resveratrol Vitamin C Cleanser: The first thing that really stood out about this cleanser was the incredible smell! It's like no other cleanser I've used and I can't really describe it other than it's a little citrusy and fresh, but subtle and rich at the same time. This cleanser looks like a serum, went on a little like an oil, and worked into a gentle lather - which is one thing I really loved, as I'm not huge on super lathery products.

Bascially, this cleanser has every single ingredient I love in a single product. It has vitamin C, A, and Aloe, and of course, Resveratrol. My skin felt instantly softer, more moisturized and definitely smoother. Plus, it does a great job of removing any leftover makeup. I would definitely recommend this cleanser for sensitive skin as well, as it was extremely gentle - but unlike a lot of other sensitive skin cleansers, this one packs a serious punch, ingredient wise.

Resveratrol Vitamin C Serum: After the cleanser, I applied the Vitamin C Serum, which feels like total heaven to apply. I have to say that every single one of Vine Vera's products feel like total bliss to use. You really get an at-home spa feeling! This also smells amazing, and it instantly softens. And unlike other serums, this one did not leave me feeing greasy or shiny.

Several of the facialists I have gone to or worked with consider a serum maybe even a little more important than using a moisturizer, which is something I've taken to heart. Part of the reason behind this is because serums can have more active ingredients so they are more potent, and also because they often more water-based, which helps them penetrate the skin in an extremely effective way.

Resveratrol Vitamin C Day Cream: After the serum, I applied the Day Cream, which feels thick and substantial to the touch, but goes on smoothly and feels incredibly lightweight and emollient. I love using a day cream after a serum, especially now that we've moved to the desert. I love that with this one, you really don't need a lot - especially if you apply it after the serum. It really does a fabulous job of locking in all those super potent ingredients.

The texture of this cream is basically what I have been searching for all my life, and just like the serum, it doesn't leave you shiny or greasy feeling whatsoever. I'm very sensitive to breakouts, and not only did this cream not make me breakout (which happens quite often for me with moisturizers), but it really makes my skin feel more firm and supple.

Cabernet High-Potency Eye Cream: One thing I mentioned to Vine Vera when I was picking out which products to try, is that I wanted a seriously amazing eye cream. And did they deliver! While this eye cream seems a bit expensive, it should be pointed out that this is about 2x the size of my last eye cream, and just like the Vitamin C Day Cream, you need very little to go a long way. I've used this cream for a week and I haven't even made a dent.

It should also be pointed out that this eye cream is b-a-n-a-n-a-s. You know, the kind where you feel like there are instant results. Maybe it's the caffeine that is another key component of this cream, but my skin feels firmer the minute I put this on and I'm convinced I'm already seeing some kind of a difference.

One more bonus - this cream has vitamin A in it as well, which I personally find very useful, as I've started to notice a few dark spots around my eyes (hereditary and from lack of sunscreen) and vitamin A has really seemed to help with this.

Vine Vera Cabernet Eye Serum Just like how a serum is super effective for your face, the same goes for your eyes. But another thing I really like about this eye serum is that on top of vitamin A, C and Resveratrol, it also contains green tea, which has been known to reduce swelling and puffiness and tighten your skin.

At the end of a really rough day earlier this week (think 4 hrs sleep, 15 hr work day with lots of traveling), I applied this serum and then the cream on top before bed, and woke up without a single sign of exhaustion on my face. And while I may have still felt a little like death, I looked like I had gotten several nights of full beauty sleep.

I guess in conclusion, you could say I'ma huge fan. I do believe that with beauty, sometimes it's worth it to spend a little more for real results. My suggestion, if you're interested in trying this brand, is to start with one product and see how you like it, and go from there.

Hope you all have an amazing weekend!
