There's something so freeing about living in a bikini from dawn till dusk. You don't have to think too much about accessorizing, shoes become mostly a non-issue, and there's also a certain kind of self-awareness that, after time, just seems to melt away.
As a culture, we obsess so much about our bodies. Some of it is health related, but if any of us are truly honest, there's a lot that has to do with how we look - from large scale observations, to minuscule personal details/hangups. I'm no different from anyone else in this respect. But for some reason, when I'm in Hawaii and wearing nearly next to nothing, any stupid hangup I have seems to fall by the wayside. I'm not sure why - maybe it's because the beach is oddly democratizing in the sense that we are all there for one major purpose: to, for even just a few days, relax into a simpler lifestyle than our daily lives allow, and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.
Hope you have a gorgeous Friday!
